What sets the figure
A steam oven repair is priced from the part the meter finds, never from the symptom. Three kinds of steam oven work have published bands, and they are the three above: the control board or touch panel, the door and its seal, and the convection fan at the back wall. On the 24-inch knob model, Wolf’s service manual reserves the door seal for a service technician rather than the owner; seal and hinge work on any generation falls in the door band.
Everything on the water side is quoted after the diagnosis. The valve that feeds the boiler, the pump that returns water to the tank, the hoses, the level sensing and the boiler element all differ by model and serial, so we price them from the part number, in writing, before anything is ordered.
What comes before any of it
Several steam faults cost nothing beyond the visit, and a few cost nothing at all. A cavity already above 210°F when a steam mode starts makes no steam by design. A descale message is answered with a bottle of Durgol: Wolf quotes about 45 minutes, and the on-screen steps run about 30 minutes on descaler, then a rinse of about 45, longer if extra rinses are called for. A tank that weeps when it stands full on a dry table is a part an owner can order. We say which of these it is on the phone where we can, before the $89 is spent.
How the $89 works here
