Mercer Island, WA Independent Wolf service
Wolf repair,
read before it is quoted
Ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and hoods across the whole of Mercer Island. Every call starts with a meter and the service documentation for your model — not with a parts list.

02 Credentials
What we hold, and what each one covers
Categories only, listed plainly. Numbers get published here once they are verified rather than paraphrased — if you want to see a document before booking, ask and it will be sent.
-
State contractor registration
Registered with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries to perform this work. Registration is what makes the bond and the liability cover below legally meaningful.
-
Electrical specialty licence
Wolf ovens, induction cooktops and hood blowers are wired appliances. Anything past the plug — junction boxes, hard-wired hood circuits, element and inverter replacement — sits under a specialty electrical licence.
-
EPA Section 608 certification
Held for refrigerant-handling work. It is not needed for a range or a hood, but it is the reason we can look at a whole kitchen rather than telling you to call someone else for half of it.
-
General liability and bond
Carried on every call. It matters most in the kitchens we work in on Mercer Island, where a 48-inch range comes out over a stone floor and goes back into millwork that was built around it.
-
Manufacturer-specific training
Wolf gas and dual fuel platforms, induction inverters and hood control systems. Training records name the courses and the years; we will publish them rather than describe them.
03 Documentation
Opened, and accounted for
Two reference frames rather than a transformation. Neither is a "before" or an "after" — the interesting part of this work is rarely photogenic. What the pair shows is the method: how far an appliance is opened before anything is quoted, and where the parts that came off it end up.
Opened
Cooktop and cavity, both reachable
Grate and burner cap lifted clear, oven door lowered, rack out. Most of a diagnosis happens with the appliance in this state — a meter, and the service documentation for that model and serial — before a single part is quoted.
Accounted for
Every fastener, in the order it came off
Screws, brackets and washers laid out on a towel rather than pocketed. It is the unglamorous half of the job, and it is the reason a unit goes back together the way it came apart with nothing left over at the end.
Reference photographs of the kind of equipment this work is done on, captioned for what is actually in the frame. They are not two states of one appliance and neither is presented as a result — a repair is judged on the readings afterwards, not on how the kitchen photographs.
04 Services
Four things, done properly
We do not service every appliance in the kitchen. These four are what a Wolf household actually calls about, and keeping the list short is the reason the diagnosis is quick.
- 01
Range Repair Dual fuel and all-gas Wolf ranges — sealed burners, spark ignition, the oven cavity beneath them, and the griddle and charbroiler modules on the wider tops. - 02
Oven Repair Built-in Wolf wall ovens, single and double — convection, bake and broil elements, door latches, thermostats and the control boards that drive them. - 03
Cooktop Repair Wolf gas, induction and electric cooktops — sealed burner assemblies, induction coils and inverters, touch controls and the wiring behind the glass. - 04
Range Hood Repair Wolf wall, island and pro hoods — blower motors, speed control, halogen and LED lighting banks, and the ducting the hood is trying to push through.
05 The equipment
Why a Wolf is worth the repair
A Wolf range is not built like a mass-market appliance and it does not fail like one. The dual-stacked sealed burners, the infrared broiler, the porcelain-lined oven cavity and the heavy-gauge frame underneath are all designed on the assumption that individual components will be replaced over a very long service life. That assumption is the whole argument for repairing one.
It also changes how a fault should be approached. On a cheaper range, a dead burner and a dead board are treated the same way — swap the assembly and move on. On a Wolf, the burner, the igniter, the spark module and the valve are separate serviceable parts, and finding out which of the four is actually at fault is worth the extra half hour it takes.
That is the work: reading the appliance properly before quoting it. On Mercer Island most of these units sit inside millwork that was designed around them, so the cost of replacing an appliance is never just the appliance. Getting the existing one right is almost always the cheaper honest answer.
- Component-level diagnosis before any part is quoted
- Model and serial checked against the actual service documentation
- Cabinetry, stone and flooring protected before the unit is moved
- The price agreed in writing before anything is ordered

06 Guides
Work it out before you call
All guides- Anchored, Flexible, Slack: Installing a Wolf Range Over the Seattle Fault Zone Mercer Island lies inside the Seattle Fault Zone, so a Wolf range install comes down to three details: an anti-tip bracket anchored into structure, a flexible gas connector with real slack and strain relief, and a hood duct joint that is mechanically fastened rather than taped.
- Wolf Oven Running Below Its Set Temperature: Reading the Fault Properly A Wolf oven that preheats then drifts twenty or forty degrees under the dial is telling you something specific. What the drift pattern means, how to measure it honestly, and which component it usually turns out to be.
- Wolf Range Burner Clicks But Will Not Light: What It Actually Means A Wolf sealed burner that sparks endlessly without catching is almost never a dead burner. Here is what the clicking is telling you, what to check yourself, and which of the four possible faults it usually turns out to be.

In their words
5.0 / 5 · 1,000 reviews
Electric cooktop losing one element at random. Two other people had told me to replace the unit. He found a burnt connector at the terminal block and rebuilt it properly instead.
Larkin S. · East Seattle · Oct 2025
Island hood lights went out in a bank and the speed control stuck. Both sorted in one visit and the price matched the quote. My only note is that booking took a few days.
Rowan H. · East Seattle · Jul 2026
Convection fan spun but nothing ever browned. He found an open bake element and fitted a new one. Honest work; I only wish the arrival window had been a little narrower.

08 Where we work
All of Mercer Island, and only Mercer Island
One island, four neighbourhoods, one route. It is the reason arrival windows stay narrow and the reason we can come back the same week if something needs a second look.
-
Town Center 98040 The condominium and townhouse blocks either side of 78th Avenue SE, where kitchens are compact and a range usually has to be drawn out of a tight run of cabinetry before anyone can reach the back of it. -
North End 98040 The streets between the north beach and the lid — a lot of mid-century houses with kitchens remodelled around a 36-inch Wolf range and a hood ducted through the roof line. -
East Seattle 98040 The old west-shore neighbourhood facing Seattle. Waterfront and near-waterfront homes here often run 48-inch dual fuel ranges with a matching pro hood over them. -
The Lakes 98040 The south-end community around Island Crest Way, where built-in wall ovens and induction cooktops are the more common Wolf installation and access panels are usually behind cabinet returns.

How a booking goes
-
Pick a slot
The booking page takes the appliance, the symptom and a time that suits you. Nothing is charged there.
-
We confirm it
A call back to check the model and serial against what is on the van, and to give you a two-hour arrival window rather than a whole day.
-
$89 service call
A flat service call fee covers the visit and the full diagnosis, and it is credited in full against the repair if you go ahead.
-
Priced before the work
Parts and labour are quoted in writing before anything is ordered, and the number does not move afterwards.
The line is answered 24/7; the visit itself falls inside 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, seven days. If the appliance is still inside its factory warranty, call Wolf first — that repair should not cost you anything.
